Using complex networks to model, simulate and understand the dynamics of psychotherapeutic processes

Abstract 

L’obiettivo del nostro studio era di utilizzare la scienza di interazioni complesse per colmare il divario nella ricerca riguardante la psicoterapia. In particolare, abbiamo scelto di concentrarci sull’uso della teoria dei grafi per modellare e simulare la topologia e la dinamica della relazione psicoterapeutica, dato come negli ultimi anni tale metodo è stato strumentale nella comprensione di sistemi dinamici complessi.

The goal of our study was to use the science of complex interactions to bridge the gap in research concerning psychotherapy. In particular, we chose to focus on the use of graph theory to model and simulate the topology and dynamics of the psychotherapeutic relationship, given how in the past few years such method has been instrumental in understanding complex dynamic systems.
